Sandipan Samanta

About Me

Hello, I'm Sandipan Samanta - a 4th year Integrated MSc student at NISER (National Institute of Science Education and Research) Bhubaneswar with a deep passion for mathematics, coding, and innovation. My journey in math began in childhood and really took off when I started tackling challenging problems in math olympiads. Those early experiences ignited a lifelong love for the subject.

Academically, my focus lies in complex and harmonic analysis. I've explored topics like Fourier analysis, Hardy-Littlewood maximal operators, and gained a solid understanding of L^p spaces—even if I'm still learning the finer points. Currently, I'm reading a paper on Bourgain-Morrey spaces.

Over the course of my studies, I've been fortunate to receive academic excellence awards in semesters 3 and 5, and I'm honored to have been among the batch toppers. My hands-on experiences include two summer internship projects at NISER and a machine learning project on the Voronoi area game (more details on my Academics page).

I've also had the chance to lead the MathematiX club (2023-24) and serve as a core member of the RoboTech Club for almost a year. Outside the classroom, I'm passionate about chess, robotics, and coding (Python is my language of choice). Recently, I've even dipped my toes into astrophotography—embracing a new challenge while staying true to my analytical roots.

I wouldn't be where I am today without the unwavering support of my seniors, especially Archisman Bhattacharya and Ayanava Mandal, as well as my amazing batchmates. Their mentorship and camaraderie have been invaluable throughout my journey.
